Ethical Dilemmas in Clinical Practice in MD 

Description:

This session will provide training on issues and concepts related to ethics and professional boundaries for human service professionals (social workers, counselors, psychologists). It will examine various codes of ethics with special emphasis on the NASW's code. This session will examine emotional, physical/spatial and verbal boundaries, which should be maintained while working within a system of care. Understanding implications of violating professional boundaries and ethics is crucial to social workers and other professionals in providing comprehensive and effective care to consumers.

Objectives: 

  • Discuss the importance of maintaining ethics and professional boundaries
  • Describe the relationship between professional boundaries and ethics
  • Identify common venues of boundary problems
  • Describe what constitutes sexual misconduct

 

Presenter:  Philip Lucas , DSW, LICSW, ACSW 

Philip Lucas is a consultant and trainer. He is on faculty at the School of Social Work at Howard University. The National Association of Social Worker DC Metro Chapter selected Dr. Philip, LICSW, ACSW as the recipient of it's 2011 Social Work Educator of the Year Award. Dr. Lucas, a PSI consultant, recently launched the PSI Training Institute.

Cancellation Policy: Written cancellation must be received in our office at least ten working days prior to the training. A $25.00 processing fee will be deducted from your refund. Otherwise, a voucher will be given. If you do not notify us a minimum of ten business days prior to the training of your intent to cancel, you will not receive a refund or credit.

NBCC: 6 Clock Hours/0.6 CEUs
