Trauma is frequently an issue for the clients we see. Most often individuals do not mention they have trauma issues, because they may not know themselves of their condition. One unspoken truth is that many therapists have unresolved trauma issues. The combination of clients not knowing and therapist discomfort leads to this very critical issue not being addressed in therapy. Police, fire, EMS, and other first responders are resistant to talking about their trauma. Because they experience trauma frequently, their presentation is atypical. In this training we will examine trauma in the first responder culture and in general.
