Scouting 500 2017 STEM Outreach 

We are currently seeking volunteers from the KC metro area (faculty, students, graduate engineers, and PEs) to help deliver a STEM exhibition focused on the engineering profession to between 5000 to 8000 Cub, Webelo, and Boy Scouts. This will be a part of the Scouting 500 on September 23rd, at the Kansas Speedway. We need volunteers to transport, set-up, tear-down, and demonstrate interactive displays, from 8am to 5pm. Volunteers will be organized into shifts.

Today, many folks are involved in many STEM activities, but this is a unique opportunity to have a massive impact on possible future engineering students. The Scouting 500 only comes around every three years. Main sponsors of this activity are the Western Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers KC YMG and engineering students from UMKC SCE. All disciplines and organizations are invited.
