Taxation of Americans Abroad – Learn the myths and realities of US citizens and resident aliens, who live outside the United States or abroad. All worldwide income is subject to U.S. income tax, regardless of where you reside, but the exclusions, deductions and credits can vary based upon the year you leave, enter or remain outside the US.

Taxation of Nonresidents – There are special rules for military, foreign government employees and students. Learn the tests, terminology and taxation. For example, how investment and business income are taxed differently.

Representation: Redressing International Tax Noncompliance – After filing proper returns, a tax preparer might discover that some prior years are missing. The differences of a quiet disclosure, voluntary disclosure and streamline process are stark. Look into this presentation before your leap into FBAR representation!

Taxation of Foreign Dividends - Dividends in international tax practice bifurcate into the same “nonqualified” and “qualified” characterizations as domestic dividends. The bifurcation and terminology determine the characteristics for taxation. Nonqualified dividends are generally taxed at regular income tax rates whereas qualified dividends are taxed at net capital gains tax rates. It is essential that the taxpayer identify the proper rate.
