Keynote Speaker- Ms. Mimi Wyche

"Never Give Up"

Join us on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church for the 2017 Annual Meeting Luncheon of Mental Health America of Greenville County.

This event allows board members, partners, volunteers and other community stakeholders to unite for a dynamic event recognizing the organization's progress while addressing opportunities in the year ahead.

The 2017 keynote speaker is Ms. Mimi Wyche. Ms. Wyche is a locally-born advocate and internationally-renowned actress and singer who has performed on Broadway and in numerous off-Broadway plays and musicals. She has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and played leading roles in regional theaters throughout the country. As a soprano soloist, Ms. Wyche has sung with prestigious orchestras including the New York City Symphony, the Minneapolis Symphony, and the San Diego Symphony.  She has performed as a special guest on Garrison Keillor's "Prairie Home Companion."  In Greenville, she has performed with the Greenville Symphony, The Greenville Little Theater, Centre Stage, and the Warehouse Theatre. She has written and performed six one-woman shows.  Her piece "Eaten Alive" explores the psychological impact of eating disorders.  She has toured schools and colleges in the US and Canada for 11 years.

Having lived with major depression and recovered from an eating disorder, Ms. Wyche is a passionate advocate for bringing psychological illnesses and disorders out of secrecy and into community awareness. She has spoken and performed numerous benefits for non-profit organizations, schools, theaters, and eating disorder groups in Greenville and around the country.  She believes theater is one of the most powerful tools available for exploring and sharing our communal march from struggle to vitality.

The registration cost for the luncheon is $25.00 (for MHAGC members and/or volunteers) or $35.00 (for non-members and non-volunteers) and includes a boxed lunch.  Please RSVP by September 29, 2017.
