Join the Initiative on Cities on Thursday, October 5 at 4:00pm in welcoming experienced public servants, Jerry Abramson, Michael Nutter, and Katie King (CAS’06, SPH’13)to Boston University discuss how mayors and officials at the state and federal levels can work together to identify and achieve common goals. With political divisions along a range of issues, from infrastructure investment to climate change policy, immigration, and policing, is collaboration possible?
- Jerry Abramson served in the Obama Administration as the White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, as the Mayor of Louisville and as the Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky. He is now an Executive in Residence at Bellarmine University.
- Katie King proudly serves as Interim Director of Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s Office of Intergovernmental Relations. In this role, she leads the team that coordinates the Administration’s communication and collaboration with federal, state, and other municipal governments, and the Boston City Council.
- Michael Nutter served for 15 years on the Philadelphia City Council and two terms as Mayor of Philadelphia. He now teaches as the David N. Dinkins Professor of Professional Practice in Urban and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
