February 12, 2018: Addressing Anxiety and Depression in the School Setting
Presented by Dr. Heather Jones, Rogers Memorial Hospital

REGISTER  (February 12 Session)

Dr. Heather Jones will present on identification, treatment, and management of common anxiety disorders and depression within a school setting.  A brief overview of diagnostic criteria will be offered followed by an orientation to the evidenced-based, cognitive-behavioral therapy interventions found effective in treating anxiety and depression.  Specific recommendations for school psychologists and counselors working with students who have been identified as at risk for developing serious anxiety and depression will be discussed.

April 17, 2018: The Opioid Epidemic in Schools: What Pupil Services Personnel Need to Know
Presented by Dr. Angela Stebbins, Rogers Memorial Hospital

REGISTER  (April 17 Session)

This presentation will walk participants through prevention through recovery. Discussion will include components of Harm Reduction practices, testing of at risk populations, overdose prevention, models of recovery/access to treatment and correlation between mental health disorders and opioid addiction.
