Exterior Walls Quality Assurance

Exterior Walls Quality Assurance is a one-day course for professionals interested in performing observation to assure that exterior wall systems are installed in accordance with construction documents. The program covers diverse topics in the construction of exterior walls, and is intended for manufacturers, general contractors, quality assurance observers, and field inspectors.

Course participants will receive detailed information on the different materials and systems that may be encountered in exterior wall construction, including proper installation and a discussion of how these components interface to create a weathertight assembly. Instructors cover the fundamentals of insulation, air and water barriers, vapor retarders, and various cladding materials, including metal panels, masonry, stucco, and EIFS

Ted Sheridan, RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, PEng

Ted has over 30 years of experience and has completed and supervised over 2,500 engineering and consulting projects, primarily in Ontario and Qu�bec, but also elsewhere in Canada and the U.S., including everything from residential ice-damming issues to re-cladding of office buildings and re-roofing of automotive plants. Ted earned his PEng in 1987, his RRC in 1991 (second ever awarded in Canada), his REWC in 2011, and his RWC and RBEC in 2012. From 1984 to 2000, he worked for several consulting engineering firms in Ottawa, specializing first in roofing and waterproofing quality control, and then in building envelope design and investigation work, with related structural engineering, rising to the position of principal. In 2001, in partnership with Doug Fishburn, he opened Fishburn, Sheridan & Associates, Ltd. in Ottawa, where he is currently president. Ted is a past director of RCI Region VII (Eastern Canada).

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be issued up to two weeks prior to the event and a $25 administrative fee will apply. After that time, no refunds will be permitted.
“No Shows” will not receive a refund. Substitutions are permitted.
