The City University of New York’s Creative Arts Team (CUNY-CAT) continues to provide customized professional support to promote culturally responsive education, and engagement, and practice transformation.
Transforming Our Practices (TOP) is our top priority in FY18. Designed to activate the power of collective purpose and vision to achieve greater outcomes and goals, the TOP retreat is carefully crafted by CUNY-CAT to foster personal and social transformation for DYCD’s Young Adult Literacy Program practitioners. Transforming Our Practices (TOP) addresses the changing needs and challenging landscape of the world of young adult literacy education across the New York City to support DYCD’s Young Adult Literacy Program staff to achieve large-scale transformation. The four day retreat is broken down into four daily themes designed to support and inspire professional growth and personal development, share best practices, modify, adapt and further improve program quality.
The TOP retreat is the first phase of CUNY-CAT’s FY18 strategic plan to ensure YALP programs stay on TOP of their game. The retreat will allow programs to actively reflect, hone, and strengthened their individualized improvement plan. In addition, this cross-site retreat will boost collaboration amongst the broader YALP community in order to develop impactful practices that create, promote, sustain growth and learning, and improve outcomes across the YALP network.
