Trees of Yakima County:
Imposters and Aliases
We have a lot of different native trees in our county, but did you know that we have some "fake" trees here as well? Want to learn how we root them out and identify them?
On Saturday, October 21st, join us and learn about our county's native trees from mountain tops to rivers and sagebrush. This naturalist class entails a short classroom session and walk-about searching for trees known by their common aliases and trees whose names may be misleading. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a pocket ruler and guide to some of our native trees and learn why we find trees where we do on the landscape.
Space is limited to 20 visitors so please register early!
