Award Winning Author & Illustrator!
Wendy Anderson Halperin
Wendy is an award winning Michigan author and illustrator of children's and young adult books. She has studied painting and anatomy at Syracuse University, Pratt Institute, and under the tutelage of David Hardy. In the 70's Wendy worked as an Art director before moving into her present work as a teacher. She trains educators, librarians, as well as attends conferences and workshops.
Wendy was recognized by the Michigan Association of School Boards as an Excellence in Education recipient for her work with Drawing Children into Reading, and has received numerous other awards, from the Michigan Reading Association and National Science Teachers Association.
Her books have received accolades from the American Library Association, the New York Public Library, the New York Times and the Boston Globe.
Among her books are Peace, Bonaparte, The Peterkin's Christmas, The Full Belly Bowl, Thank You God for Everything, and The Visit. Her books have won numerous awards and have been translated into many languages including Japanese, Dutch, and Tswana.
Attendees of the Author's Breakfast will each receive a copy of Wendy's book, Peace, and the chance to win her "Peace" table.
