Assistive and Adaptive Technology

Speaker:  Jessica Stine, Self Advocacy Specialist, Western Region

Come join us to learn about assistive technology and adaptive technology. See how it has eliminated many barriers for people with disabilities. Assistive technology and adaptive technology can make what was once impossible, finally possible for a person who has a disability. It will not remove all the obstacles connected with your disability but it will provide you the ability to live a full meaningful productive life in every way possible. Several of the key areas that will be covered on assistive technology and adaptive technology information session include.

  • What is assistive technology and adaptive technology?
  • Overview of DDA assistive technology and adaptive technology as it is stated in the waiver
  • Who can help in purchasing assistive technology and adaptive technology  devices
  • What types of examples are there of assistive and adaptive technology

The assistive technology and adaptive technology information session will have something for all! Whether you have used assistive technology and adaptive technology for years, or you know nothing, or know a little, there will be many things to learn and explore for all levels and abilities.
