Matthew Maisto Film Workshop 10 AM
Scene 1 welcomes back casting director Matthew Maisto. Currently working on the groundbreaking HBO series Insecure, Matthew also helped cast blockbusters like The Hobbit, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Foxcatcher. In this workshop Matthew will cover on-camera audition techniques, creative thinking about scenes, and much more! Participants will receive sides prior to the workshop.
Matthew Maisto, CSA is an independent casting director, who is working on the groundbreaking HBO series Insecure. Devoted to modern and provocative storytelling, Matthew has assembled casts for recent independent films: Nina Letji & James Franco’s Blood Surf; S. Craig Zahler’s Brawl in Cell Block 99 starring Vince Vaughn and Bone Tomahawk; Jennifer Fox’s The Tale starring Laura Dern; Camille Thoman’s Never Here with Mireille Enos and Sam Shepard; Theresa Bennett’s F*cking People with Noel Wells and Josh Radnor; Jason Lester’s Taipei starring Justin Chon and Ellie Bamber; Michael Doneger’s The Escort; Jon Abraham’s Two for One; Casting Associate credits: Power (season 1; STARZ); Top Five; Foxcatcher; The Wolf of Wall Street; The Hobbit; Hyde Park on the Hudson; Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and numerous TV pilots.
Matthew’s television work includes Nicki Minaj’s Nicki (ABC Freeform) and Friends of the People (TruTV). He is a two-time associate Artios Award nominee, and a member of Casting Society of America (CSA). He splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
