HHCC will continue to host the Directors’ Network for administrators. This cohort is designed for all levels of directors and administrators who wish to expand their skills and expertise related to EEC licensing and the Quality Rating and Improvement System. The series will focus on building administrative skills; supervising, mentoring and leading staff; and working to improve the quality of the program. It will look at ways to inspire you and your staff to higher quality regardless of whether you are participating in QRIS, NAEYC Accreditation or remain focused on Licensing Regulations. Join us to hear the latest information and to share challenges and solutions with other directors.
Monday, October 30th – The Role of the Administrator & a Look at QRIS: Past, Present & Future: The Directors’ Network will start the year by focusing on you, the administrator. This session will look at leadership skills, especially as they apply to a third party validation: compliance with licensing, NAEYC Accreditation and / or participation in QRIS. The group will review the current requirements and the proposed changes to QRIS. Participants will share with each other the habits or strategies that they find most useful or effective in their job.
Tuesday, November 21st – Supervising, Motivating and Inspiring Staff: This session will focus on educators: how to orient, mentor and evaluate staff. The group will discuss the advantages of moving from the ARNETT to the CLASS by examining excerpts from the CLASS that you can put into immediate use. Participants will share with each other ideas from their staff handbook and policies that help educators to succeed.
Tuesday, January 16th – Professional Development and Workforce Qualifications: This session will focus on professional development – ways to assess staff needs and to help each educator to create a plan that will work for him/her and the program. The group will explore websites that might help to meet the needs of staff. Participants will share with each other policies and forms pertaining to professional development, IPDPs and MOUs.
Tuesday, March 20th – Partnering with Families: This session will focus on families and the community. The group will examine parts of the Strengthening Families Self-Assessment and ways to involve parents in the program and educators in the community. An emphasis will be on trying something different to get different results. Participants will share parent activities that they have found successful.
Tuesday, May 15th - Maintaining Health and Safety throughout the Program: This session will focus on routines that keep staff and children healthy and safe throughout the day and throughout the program. Excerpts from EEC regulations, the ERS and a Health Self-Assessment will be used to brainstorm or assess policies in practice. Participants will share policies and checklists that help them with daily and weekly tasks.
When registering you will have the option to select all sessions or select only the sessions you are interested in attending.
