10th Annual Laternenfest & St. Martin’s Parade
The German International School Chicago (GISC) cordially invites you to the 10th Annual Laternenfest and St. Martin’s Parade at the DANK Haus on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 3:00 pm.
Children of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to this fun-filled fall celebration. In Europe, Laternenfest (lantern fest) is a festival where children walk through their villages with lighted lanterns on the eve of St. Martin’s Day (Martinstag). Our Chicago celebration will start with lantern-making and other kid-friendly activities at 3:00 pm, continue with a lantern parade through Lincoln Square at dusk, and conclude with a brat dinner at the DANK Haus around 6:00 pm.
