Learn how to WIN with federal contracting!

This cost-free workshop covers basic information woman-owned small businesses need to successfully pursue federal contracting opportunities.  Part one of the training is an overview of the Woman-Owned Small Business Certification program, covering the eligibility criteria for the program; the benefits of the program; and the process to be considered a Woman-Owned Small Business.

In order to take advantage of the certification, firms must also know how to engage with federal agencies, and that is what the second part of the workshop covers.  In part two the training reviews the tools and strategies available for business owners to most efficiently target federal contracting offices and put themselves in the best position to be considered for contract opportunities.

Instructor George Murray

Murray is the U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia Deputy District Director, where he assists the District Director in all phases of the district’s operating programs including: outreach, marketing, training, lender relations, exporting and government contracting.

Most recently, Murray held the position of Lead Economic Development Specialist at SBA’s Philadelphia office.

Prior to joining the SBA, Murray worked as a Senior Market Research Analyst with SWOT Management Group, a sales and marketing consultant supporting information technology firms.

Murray brings a wealth of experience with him tas well as a passion for educating small businesses on government contracting. He feels there is a vast opportunity for small businesses in West Virginia to take advantage of federal contracts as a means to grow their business.
