About Partners for Employment

Partners for Employment (PFE) is a program at UNM’s Center for Development and Disability.  We provide training and resources to advance promising practices for inclusive employment in New Mexico.

Our goal is improve outcomes for people with intellectual disabilities, resulting in inclusive, meaningful employment for real wages. 

Our partners include:

  • Department of Health/Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD)
  • Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

 

National Disability Employment Awareness Month 


National Disability Employment Awareness Month is celebrated nationwide every October and is an opportunity to reflect upon the value of a workforce that is inclusive of employees with disabilities. Join Partners for Employment for a series of workshops on:

  • Best Practices in Employment
  • Employment First in New Mexico
  • Innovation in School-to-Work Transition

Guest speakers include Doug Crandall of University of Georgia and Carrie Roberts of Department of Health/Developmental Disabilities Supports Division and more.

Guest Presenter

 Doug Crandell is a subject matter expert in Customized Employment with the Employment First State Leadership Mentoring Program at the US Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy. His area of expertise is using evidence-based supported employment practices to help support people with complex barriers to work.
