Assisting the First Responder Family -

The Double Edged Sword

October 27, 2017

Join us for this enlightening training that will better equip you with the tools to help your clients from these backgrounds and cultures.

Earn 3 CEU's!

First Responder husbands, wives, children and extended family are impacted by the jobs of their first responder. Oftentimes this impact is adverse and overlooked even by the first responder themselves. With PTSD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and suicide at extremely high rates the first responder family is left without the necessary skills and support needed to understand the comprehensive nature of the occupations of their loved ones. Many mental health professionals do not understand or have knowledge of the idiosyncrasies of these cultures.

BONUS ... First Responder & Spouse Presentations

Attend as a stand alone or use it to apply towards the "First Responder Intervention Specialist Level 1"           that  we offer!

She went on to graduate with her Master's Degree in Counseling in 1989. Mary has maintained a thriving private practice, Odyssey Counseling, for 27 years, employing several therapists, and a holistic practice, Resilience Integrative Services. She is trained in EMDR, a powerful modality she's used for over 15 years, in addition to CBT, guided visualization, EFT, Applied Kinesiology, Reiki, and more. As a certified holistic practitioner Mary integrates a variety of traditional and alternative methods in her work. 17 years ago, Mary began working intensively with first responders. She quickly became passionate about helping this population, educating the public, and raising awareness about the occupational hazards involved in this field. Mary actively trains therapists, social workers, other helping professionals, as well as a First Responder Peer Intervention Support Team called "Behind The Badge NM."
