LISC Roundtable Series Presents:

Successfully Coordinating Property Management and Services in Supportive Housing

$25 Members/ $35 Non-Members

Successfully Coordinating Property Management and Services

One of the hallmarks of quality supportive housing is the close coordination among all of the project partners. They have a shared commitment to the success of each tenant and to the success of the project.  For effective coordination, it is critical to understand how the supportive housing model is distinct, and to have clearly defined roles and responsibilities.  In supportive housing, there is a high degree of collaboration between property manager and service provider and key strategies to ensure a strong working relationship between all parties. Property managers work with service providers to maintain a stable housing environment, and service providers support tenants in successfully maintaining their tenancy (for example, through encouraging tenant communication with the property manager, or working out payment plans to maintain housing, etc.).

Join this interactive Roundtable focused on effective coordination between Property Management and Support Services, including how to avoid “predictable crises” and operationalize mission-driven supportive housing property management practices.  This includes the development and enforcement of house rules/essential tenant obligations; collaborative approaches to tenant selection and screening, move-in, orientation, and crisis management; creating and supporting resident councils; linking tenants with employment opportunities; along with a discussion of evictions and problem-solving.  We welcome you to this dialogue focused on the key roles and best practices of Property Management and Support Service providers in the successful operation of a supportive housing community.
