Risk Assessment & Safety Planning

This full day training is designed to provide professionals working with domestic violence victims with theory and skills related to the assessment and mangement of risk. It includes the use of domestic violence screening, triage,assessment and safety planning tools. This training offers participants best-practice approaches to risk asessment and management, as well as training activities designed to learn and practice specific implementation skills. With the skills acquired through this training, participants will be better equipped to support victims who are at risk for lethal violence. Throughout this training, participants will be encouraged to identify how they will implement knowledge and skills into practice in various settings. 

ODVN Trainers: Rachel Ramirez,LISW-S, Training Director and Cathy Alexander, LISW-S, Adult Trauma and Technical Assistance Specialist 
Continuing Education Units: 5 CEUs. Please note that CEU credit hours will only be given for the hours you actually attend training. In order to get a complete certificate of attendance for all the offered hours, you must attend the entire training. There are no exceptions. 
    Dress: Please dress casually and comfortably. Temperatures in training environments are unpredictable so please dress in layers.
      Food and Snacks: Due to grant restrictions, ODVN cannot provide food or snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring what they need to take care of themselves. There will be a one hour lunch break.  Participants will be provided with all handouts and training materials, but may find it useful to bring a laptop, tablet or pen and paper.
        Refund Policy: A full refund will be given until the deadline, November 3.  If you cancel your registration after the deadline or fail to attend the training, you or your agency will still be responsible for the full registration fee. Participant substitutions are always permitted.
