Breakout Sessions - Room 104

Session #1 – Discover Patterns for Predictive Analytics –1:00 pm Falkonry is your solution to industrial predictive analytics. Compile trends, traces, and time series data to eliminate unscheduled downtime in discrete manufacturing, increase yield in ultra-high precision manufacturing, and increase safety along with revenue at a huge scale. Understand how ready to use predictive analytic does not require data scientists, how it provides benefits of early warnings for hard operational problems and how it can efficiently train junior operational staff. Focused, fast, and general-purpose approach. Presenter: Falkonry, Mike McDermott, Senior Vice President of Sales

Session #2 – Plastics for Longer Life –2:00 pm Günter Blase began igus® back on 15th October 1964 in a double garage in Cologne. For the first 20 years, the company worked as a supplier of complex technical polymer components. However, in 1983 Frank Blase established reinforced plastic Energy Chain Systems® and injection molded polymer bear-ings as two distinct product groups and set up a network of sales engineers. These seemingly unrelated products are linked together through the belief in making functionally advanced, yet affordable polymer components and assemblies. Presenter: igus® Inc , Brian Davis - Energy Chain Systems

Session #3 – Digital Transformation in Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain –3:00 pm The automotive industry is going through a transformative change, in part because of the growing digi-talization and advancements in technology. Predicting where the industry will be in 2020 has become challenging, and with buzzwords, like Industry 4.0, Robotics, and Connectivity, it can be hard to know where to invest your resources. Presenter: SERGERE, David Zingery - Global Client Solutions

Session #4 –Process Visibility System (PVS): Industry 4.0 Getaway -4:00 pm Compared to a magnifying glass, ENVISION is a microscope which provides x1,000 or even x10,000 magnifications to observe the details at granular level in HD resolution. Through in-depth, holistic and real-time analysis of big data, ENVISION is ushering factory automation into a new era and is the foun-dation for the factory of the future, as well as the technology for IoT and Industry 4.0. Presenter: BEET, David Wang, BEET CEO / CTO

 Breakout Sessions - Room 106

Session #1 – 3D design for a connected digital manufacturing –9:00 am Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS’ 3D design-through-manufacturing software suite is the industry leader in innovation and ease of use, enabling our customers to design better products faster and more cost effectively. In this lecture/live demonstration format, you will learn about trends in 3D design for a connected digital manufacturing age and see how the SOLIDWORKS product portfolio addresses this rapidly changing landscape. Presenter: Solidworks: Paul Adams, Vice President, Worldwide Technical Sales

Session #2 – Real-world IIoT –10:00 am Cloud connectivity, mobility, and intelligent devices have changed the way manufacturing companies automate their production... Or have they? Beyond the buzz words and initiatives, what Industrial IoT technologies make sense for manufacturers who have existing machine assets to maintain, lim-ited time and budget for redevelopment, and need both Operations & Information Technology de-partments to work together? This round table discussion dissect several approaches to IIoT currently and soon to be available based on real-world use cases in order to come up with practical next steps. Presenter: OMRON: Brain Carder, Strategic Account Manager

Session #3 –Product Performance Lifecycle™ (PPL) –12:00 pm Product Performance Lifecycle™ (PPL), together with its IoT-based Hybrid Twin™ solution, represent a strongly innovative and inescapable step forward that aims to provide businesses with intelligent control over a product’s entire lifecycle – looking beyond its development phase and nominal state covered by Virtual Prototyping – to represent and maintain its performance during in-service use. ESI’s IC.IDO is the leading virtual reality solution for manufacturing organizations empowering them with the ability to validate and improve their designs early on. Thanks to its unique real-time physics solver and high performance visualization, customers are able to rapidly analyze complex design challenges across the entire value chain –particularly in concept design, design for manufac-turability and serviceability, and manufacturing engineering. Presenter: ESI, Speaker To Be Announced

Session #4 – Scio – Manufacturing Analytics Smart Platform–1:00 pm The Scio platform, along with its scalable analytics applications, is the foundation for building the Smart Connected Factory. Just-in-time and just-enough analytics that seamlessly scale from the edge to the cloud are now enriched with the most advanced Machine Learning and Predictive Algo-rithms. Scio mines, orchestrates and analyzes data from all manufacturing sources; producing key insights on how to improve productivity and reduce downtime. Presenter: Rockwell, Luca De Ferrari- Executive - Information Solutions

Session #5 – In-line Robust 3D Bead Inspection –2:00 pm Bead dispensing is getting widely used in production for automotive body structural adhesive, seal-ant, windshield, powertrain FIPG, etc. However, bead dispensing is a very complicated process with many variants which can impact its performance. Manufacturers cannot just simply rely on readings from dispensers to ensure if right amount is applied at right location, which drives the need for bead inspection. Traditional 2D vision systems tend to under-perform for bead inspection given it is tem-peramental to ambient lighting changes, part color changes, and etc. Coherix Predator3D is an inno-vative bead inspection solution with proven record. It provides full 3D profile of the bead as it is be-ing dispensed. User friendly and no penalty to cycle time. Predator3D enables manufacturers to better control quality and improve their dispensing processes. Presenter: Coherix, Zhenhua Huang- General Manager of Americas

Session #6 – Enabling Blockchain –3:00 pm In this session, IBM will discuss the value of digital transformation across Supply Chain, Manufactur-ing, and enabled by Blockchain. Cognitive Manufacturing will digitize and optimize previously inac-cessible areas of manufacturing processes and help manufacturers minimize downtime, optimize as-set and equipment performance, improve quality and yield from design to support as well as reduce costs by driving efficiency in process, labor and energy. A cognitive supply chain can elevate your existing systems to provide greater visibility, transparency and insight into supply chain data and processes—so you can better predict and mitigate the disruptions and risks that threaten your com-petitive advantage. When underpinned by Blockchain, manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders can realize enterprise-ready blockchain solutions that overcome existing limitations of the technology in terms of privacy, confidentiality, auditability, governance, and scalability. Presenter: IBM, Mike Maxey - Watson IoT Industry Solutions

Session #7–Building Smarter Manufacturing with the Internet of Things –4:00pm Are you pleased with your current margins? Does your revenue grow by single digits? Is 2017 anoth-er year of “trimming costs” to be more efficient with the result being mediocre at best? Hitachi has 100+ years of manufacturing experience. Today, convergence of operational technology and infor-mation technology enables manufacturers to be more efficient, agile, and profitable. Learn how Hita-chi has employed IoT and Advanced Analytics to solve internal manufacturing challenges and ad-dress customer pain points, to realize real operational savings. Presenter: Hitachi Consulting , Hart Levy, Sr. Director – Innovative Solutions Team and Dave McKnight, Sr. Manager with Global Solutions& Innovations
