    "Iron Core Inductors"

    Iron Core inductors have been in use for many years. Origionally used primarily used  as smoothing filters in rectified power supplies, their use declined over time in favor of more economical and lighter-weight electrolytic capacitors. in recent years reduction of harmonic "noice polition" on power lines have become of increasing concern.  Because of this, inductors have enjoyed a revival of popularity in applications such as  variable speed  motor controls, as well as  in recitiied  power supplies, because of their  inherent  supression of high-order harmonic  currents. This tutorial will present the principles of inductor operation, and the factors which need to be considered in order to achieve a satisfactory and practical design.

    "EMI Filter Design"                                                                                          Instructor:Richard Ozenbaugh     May 9, 2018  12:30pm to 4:30pm                     

    This course covers a variety of basic including EMI components such as inductors, capacitors, arresters and EMI gaskets. The inductor stores energy in their air gaps. This creates leakage flux and can magnetically couple this other units. This seminar discusses several ways to recuce this. Capactive reastive currents to ground (called leakage currents) and the specific ation usually limits this current of the capacitor value to ground.
