This one and half hour lecture is an overview of various traumatic dental injuries and its management. A community approach to managing dental emergencies will be discussed. The lecture will include patient education, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and management and management of dental fractures, avulsions, luxation injuries and the dangers of mismanaging these vulnerable teeth.
The purpose of this lecture is to educate the general dentist on the emergency management of dental trauma. The goal is to enable the GPs to make better clinical decisions when evaluating, diagnosing and managing different types of dental trauma which will lead to better treatment and outcomes. Furthermore, a goal of this lecture is to discuss community approach to treating dental trauma by educating our patient on how to respond to dental trauma since they are often the first responders to these accidents.
