Mason Klinck, Al Juppe’ and John Warren comprise a MaSEA panel to provide documentation templates for engagement, conflict of interest, client consent and IRS request letters. The presentation is a series of US Treasury Circular 230 references where the IRS has demands on practitioner behaviors, office practices and client procedures. This is a free event for MaSEA and RISEA members, who can earn two IRS ethics CPE.
Mason Klinck, EA has been both a Revenue Agent for the IRS as well as a partnership auditor for the California Franchise Tax Board, with an emphasis on abusive multi-tier tax shelters. In addition he has worked for law and public accounting firms in taxpayer defense, legal research, tax planning and return preparation. His practice now consists of consulting law and CPA firms as well as taxpayer representation. Mason has managed VITA sites, and done pro bono work for Low Income Taxpayer Clinics in California and Massachusetts. He has taught in graduate level tax programs and published in the technical press. He holds two degrees from Oxford as well as a Master of Science in Taxation and an MBA.
Al Juppe’, EA: Al is the principle owner of Superior Tax Service and has been preparing taxes for over 30 years. He earned his EA credential in 1997 and worked for H&R Block for 19 years. For the last ten years he has operated his own private practice. Al has over four decades of accounting experience He prepares personal and trust tax returns, helps with FASA filings, setting up payment plans, audits, and tax representation. As a MASEA board member Al has created and implemented a member mentorship program. He is the organizer and co-host of the Cape TV Show, “The Tax Experts.”
John Warren, EA: John has four decades of tax preparation experience. He also has experience with Fortune 100 corporate and international tax software design and application development. Most recently he verifies tax software compliance and has become a subject matter expert for a do-it-yourself retail software product. He founded a fresh idea venture of an experienced tax professional consortium to serve the Medford area. He prepares individual, small business and non-profit tax returns. He is an enrolled agent, President of MASEA, and NPTI fellow.
Important Notice Re: CPE
CPE credits count toward fulfillment of the Continuing Professional Education requirements of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the Massachusetts Society of Enrolled Agents and the Internal Revenue Service. Except education credits for state tax courses will not count toward IRS requirements under Circular 230.
