THE NEW LEADERSHIP LITERACIES FOR NONPROFITS
- What external forces are most likely to disrupt nonprofits?
- What are the new models for organizations to thrive in a future where anything that can be distributed will be distributed?
Dr. Bob Johansen, is a distinguished fellow at Institute for the Future in Silicon Valley, one of the few futures think tanks in the world to outlive its forecasts - with remarkable accuracy. In Bob's new book - The New Leadership Literacies, he goes beyond skills and competencies to propose five new leadership literacies - combinations of disciplines, practices and worldview - that will be needed to thrive in a "VUCA" world of increasing volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. In his opening keynote, Bob will provoke, stimulate, inspire and motivate us to gain a broader understanding of current and future trends on the local, national and global level so we all can help the organizations we serve to secure the future.
- Looking back from the future - Susan Ingmire, President, Philanthropic Services of Ignite Philanthropy & Kate Keller VP, Community & System Strategies, Interact for Health - will converse with Bob and the audience regarding his 2008 work on the Philanthropy Map, what it looks like today and what he forecasts for the future of the social sector.
- Being a Brave Leader - ComedySportz Improv will use improv, and its ideas of "yes....and", quick thinking and flexibility in the moment to create spaces where voices are heard and valued, failure and greater growth as a collaborative team is achieved, and common ground to understand, explore and integrate divergent ideas and create a resilient organization becomes a foundation of the group.
- Leadership for Shape Shifting Org's - Raphaela Platow, Alice and Harris Weston director of the Contemporary Arts Center, collaborates with Jeff Groh, Head of School at The New School Montessori, to facilitate two interactive exercises that are a wonderful showcase for shapeshifting organizations.
- Leading by Creating & Sustaining Positive Energy - Elaine Suess, President of BeyondBeing, will actively engage participants in learning about the neuroscience and business benefits of a positive brain, and proven strategies to build resilience and influence for lasting, positive change.
