Sandtray Play Therapy with Children and Adolescents in NY
Description:
Practical aspects of using sandtray therapy with children and adolescents, integrating this modality with other forms of play therapy, will be explored. Participants will be introduced to various ways in which children utilize the sand to heal and how to recognize developmental stages of play through their work in the sandtray. Presentation of child and adolescent case studies will provide an opportunity for more in-depth learning.
Objectives:

- Discuss the origins of sandtray play therapy
- State the difference between sandtray and sandplay therapy
- Identify the therapeutic value of sandtray in play therapy
- Explain the process for creating and holding sandtray with children, adolescents and adults
- Analyze the difference between the use of sandtray between children, adolescents and adults
Presenter: Betty Jackson LSW, CST-T
Betty Jackson is an LSW (licensed social worker) in PA, an LGSW in MD, a CST-T (Certified Sandplay Therapist - Teacher through Sandplay Therapists of America), and a national and international presenter with over 35 years of experience in school, mental health agency, and private practice settings. Ms. Jackson works as a child & family therapist for Upper Bay Counseling & Support Services in Maryland and maintains a private practice in Christiana, PA.

Cancellation Policy: Written cancellation must be received in our office at least ten working days prior to the training. A $25.00 processing fee will be deducted from your refund. Otherwise, a voucher will be given. If you do not notify us a minimum of ten business days prior to the training of your intent to cancel, you will not receive a refund or credit.
