We hear and talk a lot about smart buildings. Converting a traditional building into a smart building is a challenging task. The Seminar by Iotium will cover network infrastructure required to securely connect multiple buildings .
The deployment complexities are enormous; each building has multiple sub-systems form a slew of manufacturers (HVAC, Lighting, Access Control, etc.)
In addition to the deployment complexities, security issues loom large.
One has to protect against DDOS attacks, internal fraudulent employee hacks, the proliferation of hacks from one sub-system to another, as well the need for all the usernames and passwords.
We will cover:
- The fundamental groundwork for a better understanding about smart buildings and provide takeaways and practices you can use every day.
- Best practices and considerations related to security and deployment complexities for connected buildings.
- A proposed architecture of how buildings with hundreds of sub-systems can securely connect to multiple applications that reside in public, private and hybrid clouds all without needing a truck-roll or making changes to existing enterprise IT firewall and proxy policies.
