Make a Date with DATA!

How do we study climate change?  What are we learning? How can data help us understand and respond to changes in the climate system?

MADE CLEAR, NOAA, and Delaware Sea Grant invite middle school, high school, and field-based educators to come to the UD Lewes campus,in the shadow of UD's 2-megawatt wind turbine for a one-day professional learning opportunity. During the workshop we will:

•   Plan and carry out basic investigations using climate change data

•   Review core climate change science concepts

•   Share ideas for teaching climate change in the classroom and the field

•   Meet some of UD’s fleet of research robotics and instruments

•   Make and take a water temperature sensor

Join us and learn how to bring data-rich climate change learning activities into your curriculum! Activities will support teaching with Next Generation Science Standars (NGSS) and Meaningful Watershed Education Experiences (MWEEs). Participants will receive climate change teaching resources and supplies for making a DIY water temperature sensor.

Overnight housing is available for those traveling from more than 100 miles away.
