What is T.R.A.I.L.S.?

Plan for adulthood for your teen with developmental disabilities... Creative Employment Opportunities (CEO) will be discussed at TRAILS in Febrary 2018!

CEO is a vendor of DVR and provides customized employment for their clients. This presentation will discuss:
How & why CEO started
What CEO specifically does
How to connect with CEO
The process for customized employment and how it is personalized for each consumer (intakes, assessment, development, trials/internships, and more)
On-going support, job coaching
Social skills classes
Skills to Pay the Bills and more classes to help with specific skills

 

Presented by: 

Amanda Kohnke works for Creative Employment Opportunities (CEO) in Milwaukee. She has her Bachelors
in Special Education from UW-Milwaukee and my Masters
in Sports Management from Cardinal Stritch. She was in special education  for two years in a severe MRP room where she fell in love with working on transition skills with students and wanted to do more for her students than
what she could achieve in a classroom.
She has been working for CEO in transition services for over two years and is currently on a research grant with VCU on customized employment.

Talking about how to understand Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and how to apply will be covered in the session. Everyone can benefit from attending this informative session as legislation continues to change.   

SESSION 4:  Guardianship and Supported Decision-making
Answer questions like will your child be able to make decisions on their own and what type of support do they need. Do they need a legal guardian and what options are out there? This session will help put you on the path to address these questions for the future.
