We need more than 200
works of Bluebird-Art-On-A-Stick
We are looking for artists who would like to donate a little piece of magic to help raise awareness for our children in foster care. Our goal is 200+ bluebirds - one Bluebird-Art-On-A-Stick for each foster child in our community.

Make them playful or beautiful. Simple or complicated. Funny or serious. Choose any medium—painting, fabric, canvas, collage, sculpture—because anything that inspires you will help our kids. Just be sure to put your bluebird art on a stick.

Deadline to Deliver Artwork
We need to have the bluebirds in hand no later than Saturday, March 24.
Four drop-off dates are listed in the blue column on the left.

Bluebird Parade
During the First Friday ArtWalk on May 4, there will be a Bluebird Parade on the Downtown Mall - one bluebird to represent each child in foster care in our community. Right now, that number is approximately 247.

The Parade Route
On Friday, the flock of Bluebirds will be displayed on the lawn in front of Piedmont CASA. At 4:30, there will be a brief talk before launching the flock at 5:00. The Parade will head to the Sprint Pavilion, then fly down to the Omni Hotel end of the mall and back, finally landing at CitySpace.

How bluebirds are fundraising for foster kids

SILENT AUCTION
About 35 bluebird works of art will be in a silent auction that will be held on the same date as the Bluebird Parade: May 4.

The collection will be on display at CitySpace as part of the First Fridays ArtWalk on May 4.

Any funds raised will go toward helping children in foster care by training and supporting foster care families, and by giving foster children a voice in court through the advocacy work of CASA Volunteers. Funds will be equally divided between the  and the Foster Care Adoption Awareness Coalition (FCAAC)

BLUEBIRD ART WITH DONATION
Hundreds of bluebirds will be in the May 4 Parade on the downtown mall and will then land at CitySpace, where the Silent Auction is being held.

Anyone who stops by CitySpace on May 4 and makes a donation to the Foster Care Adoption and Awareness Coalition can select a bluebird.
