Noel Kelsch, RDHAP                      

Infection Control & California Dental Practice Act Review & Update            (These courses meet the new DBC regulations that went into effect on July 1, 2017)

On January 6, 2016, Ms. Kelsch was reappointed to the Dental Hygiene Committee of California, where she has served since 2012. She has been an infection control columnist at  RDH Magazine and an international speaker and consultant since 2002. Noel is the new Director of Dental Hygiene at                Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA.

Noel Kelsch  is passionate about oral health and has the uncanny ability to motivate and enlighten audiences through her unique humor and cutting edge information.  She takes tough subject matter and presents it in such an interesting way that it becomes thought-provoking; even to those not involved in her industry.  Noel's research on infection control and cross contamination continues to enlighten dental professionals and protect patients.  Noel has reached out to underserved populations and taken her message and methods of prevention of oral diseases to the street.  Her clinical research on the impact of methamphetamine abuse on the oral cavity and treatment protocols have changed lives. She has also brought the message of oral health to the media networks from Disney Radio to ESPN 

Noel has received numerous national awards including:  Top 25 Women in Dentistry 2014, Who's Who in Infection Control 2014, Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Futures, RDH Magazine Sunstar/Butler Award, USA Magazine Make a Difference Day Award, President's Service Award, Foster Parent of the Year, Hu-Friedy Master Clinician Award, and if that is not enough, she is also a five time winner of the Castroville Artichoke Cook-Off!  Noel is a Past President of the California Dental Hygienists' Association and Key Organization Leader for Parkell, Colgate, Sunstar America, Young Dental, GC America, Phillips, Kerr Total Care, Sci-Can, Hu-Friedy, Orascoptic, and American Eagle.

Infection Control Update

Ever sit through an infection control class and wish you could nod off?  Noel Kelsch, RDH decided to change that using humor and cutting edge information.  This course will give you up to date and practical information  designed to keep both the clinician and the client safe.  Stressing the essential value of breaking the chain of infection at every level, attendees will return to their offices equipped with practical, clearly defined steps to ensure adequate infection control in the dental setting.  Utilizing Noel's OSHA designated outreach trainer status, this course includes an update on the OSHA and CDC recommendations.

After Taking The Course The Attendee Will Be Able To:  

  • Identify the new laws and regulations that apply to dentistry.
  • Delineate the regulatory requirements for minimum standards in Infection Control
  • Utilize the processes and procedures necessary to comply with the regulations

California Dental Practice Act Review & Update

Knowing the roles of all dental professionals is vital in keeping all dental professionals and patients safe.  Staying up to date on the Dental Practice Act and regulations, which govern the practice of dentistry, is a must!  This course will review the Dental Practice Act and and any recent changes.  Attendees will aid the clinician in being able to make correct legal and ethical decisions while practicing dentistry.

After Taking The Course The Attendee Will Be Able To:

  • Delineate the regulatory agencies that oversee the practice of dentistry the licensure requirements for Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and Dental Auxiliaries.
  • Utilize the Department of Consumer Affairs resources for understanding scope of practice, duties, levels of supervision and reporting violations.
