Chamber Business Breakfast: Retail in Massachusetts with Senator Jason Lewis

Join the Melrose Chamber of Commerce for a free business breakfast with State Senator Jason Lewis to discuss Retail in Massachusetts.

Senator Lewis sits on the Senate Task Force on Strengthening Massachusetts Local Retail which was established to identify ways to help local retailers become more competitive. The Task Force will address a number of key factors, including:

• Challenges faced by local retailers in competing against online sellers; 
• Closures of local retail establishments and the impact it has on local economies and property tax bases;
• Initiatives by local retailers to increase their market share; and
• How state and local governments can encourage purchasing from local retailers.

In addition, State Senator Michael Rodrigues, chair of the task force, State Senator Michael Barrett, a member of the task force and Jon Hurst from the the Retailers Association of Massachusetts will be in attendance. Read more about the task force here.
