QRIS Support Group

Family Child Providers Working Toward QRIS Level 2

 

November 6th: Session I – An Introduction to QRIS: 

This first session is designed for those new to QRIS and for those who have not yet submitted for Level 2.  The session will include answers to questions such as: What is it? What do I have to do? How long will it take? and more.  The group will discuss the advantages to you and your program of participating in QRIS and the ways in which you can make the process work for you.

December 4th: Session 2 -    Understanding the Individual Standards and Required Professional Development: 

This session will examine the standards, including how to read them and where to go for more detail about how they are measured.  It will also examine the professional development and qualifications needed as well as how to find and register for needed trainings and document them in the Professional Qualifications Registry.

January 8th: Session 3 – Overview of the Program Assessment tools:   

This session will provide information on the FCCERS, the BAS and the Strengthening Families Self- Assessment.  Each tool will be reviewed and educators will have an opportunity to complete or review a small section of each tool and look at a timeline for completion.

February 5th: Session 4 – Supporting Documentation:

This session will focus attention on the documents required to submit for Level 2.   Participants will discuss each document and learn the correct formatting of documents and complete a draft of at least one document.  Educators will share examples of their completed documents.   

March 5th: Session 5 – The Business Plan: 

This session will review the components of and the reason for having a business plan.  Each component will be discussed and participants will have an opportunity to begin the draft of their business plan.  Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of the schedule, the budget, insurance policies, etc. for their business.

April  9th – Session 6 – Return to the CQIP and IPDP:

This session will allow attendees to update their IPDP with courses that would be helpful to take while moving on to Level 3.  Participants should also bring their FCCERS, BAS, Strengthening Families Self-Assessment and all their prepared documents to provide information in preparing their CQIP Action Plan.

May 14 –Session 7 – Submitting Your Application

This final session will focus on Program Manager:  How it is formatted? How to enter information?  How to “attach” documents? and How to submit? Participants will have the opportunity to enter information into their Program Manager and update their timelines to determine what is still needed before submitting.
