How to Run a Small Business Successfully

This workshop will discuss measurements known as "Key Performance Indicators" (KPIs) that are needed to be defined and monitored to successfully run your business. Just like a doctor who uses data to assess your health, you need data as a business owner to assess and guide your business.

The workshop starts by characterizing a small business and defining the various stages of launching, stabilizing and growing the small business.

The core discussion will be on what are the internal and external KPIs that a business owner needs to monitor, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Examples are Organization KPIs, People KPIs, Process KPIs, Financial KPIs, Planning KPIs, Sales/Marketing KPIs.

Presenter: Masoom Ahmed  has Engineering & Business degrees from Illinois Institute of  Technology, Chicago and The University of Chicago, respectively. Masoom had a long career with Abbott  Laboratories, a fortune 100 Chicago based company. Currently Masoom is an independent consultant, Principal -  MAC Group LLC, which provides consulting services to small businesses.
