GEORGIA JURISPRUDENCE &
LAST MINUTE CE 

The GOA will be offering its last chance for Georgia Jurisprudence and four hours of Georgia State Board of Optometry Approved Continuing Education on Friday, December 8, 2017 in their Atlanta office . 

There will be two jurisprudence classes to choose from:
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  

The four hours of Georgia State Board of Optometry Approved Continuing Education will begin at 1:00 p.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m.

Registrants can choose to take Jurisprudence Only, CE Only or All Classes for that day.  For those electing the All Classes or Afternoon CE, lunch will be provided.

Don't Get Fooled When the OCT Goofs

Spectral domain optical coherence tomography SD-OCT has truly revolutionized diagnosis and management of many ocular diseases.  However, these devices do not diagnose diseases of directly measure tissues but only measure differences in optical reflectivity. This course will highlight several cases in which lurking variables have skewed OCT values, thus potentially misleading the clinician. The course will be presented through a rapid-fire grand rounds format. 

Whats New With Glaucoma
(2hrs Non-COPE) Georgia State Board of Optometry Approved CE 
Lecturer: Benjamin Casella, O.D. 

This course will describe several contemporary concepts regarding glaucoma as a multifactorial neurodegenerative disease. Current diagnostic considerations will be presented through clinical case examples, and possible emerging therapies, including the concept of neuroprotection, will be explained through use of recent studies on glaucoma models.
