 Great advice, tips and tricks for laser users!

Mike Clarke has many years of experience with laser cutting and engraving. At Trotec, he has been asked how to properly handle laserable materials. He will explain some easy tricks to make the job using these techniques a lot less stressful. His knowledge provides the skills to use lasers on:                             ACRYLIC   GLASS   METAL   ENGRAVING MATERIALS   PAPER   PLASTICS   TEXTILES

- He shows you how to properly engrave photos on glass

- Have you ever engraved a plastic or laminate and you're just not getting the desired colour you want? Is there too much dust and debris from the laser? Well now it's a thing of the past! Mike demonstrates a great solution to make sure the engraving looks best. He even shows the perfect way to engrave red-on-white plastic! Probably the toughest material to engrave.

Bio: 

In 1972 Mike worked in his family trophy business until 1980, where his duties included running the pantograph (manual engraver) and assembling trophies.  After graduating from University in 1984, he joined Canada’s largest awards manufacturer and sold finished awards and promotional products to end users.  In 1988 he joined up with his father and formed MTM Marketing. MTM Marketing was a sales agency representing 4 companies all of whom supply the trophy and awards industry. The machine line consisted of rotary engraving machines made by Dalhgren and than Xenetech.

In 1991 he started selling lasers along with existing rotary engraving machine line which he started selling in 1988. He also spent 7 years selling Universal Lasers and 13 years selling Epilog Lasers.  For the last 5 years he has been representing and selling Trotec Lasers. He brings 25 years of experience working with and training people on laser machines.

Mike is a writer for the 'Engravers Journal' and has been doing so for 17 years.
He has been quite avid in doing a number of CorelDraw help files over the years. He has also done a number of seminars in the US and in Canada. Teaching people how to use lasers and how to use CorelDraw are my focus now.
