HIGH ROPES COURSE AND ZIPLINING

Aerial Adventure Parks are the equivalent of an aerial trek through the forest.  Each course starts with an initial tree platform accessed by a vertical climb, inclined ramp, or zip line.  Participants will navigate rope swings, wobbly bridges, swinging logs, tightropes, cargo nets, horizontal climbing walls, and more as they progress through a variety of bridges/events to consecutive tree platforms.  Occasionally, instead of a bridge/event will be a zip line to the next tree platform.  Most courses consist of approximately 7 to 12 tree platforms and events between them with an Adventure Park consisting of 5 to 10 courses, totaling 70+ tree platforms.  It’s a fun and thrilling experience right in the midst of nature.  We have courses to accommodate all levels of athleticism, from easy to quite challenging.  After 2.5 hours of action, participants return tired, hungry, perhaps dusty and sweaty, and grinning from ear to ear.  The experience is not a ride; it is interactive.  You will be engaged and participating for 2+ hours. The minimum age is 5 years old for the Flying Squirrel Courses. While there is no minimum age for the Monkey Courses, participants must be 4'8" (56 inches) tall in order to participate on the 5 courses in this "zone".  No exceptions

WHITEWATER RAFTING

These fun 1/2 day Truckee River rafting trips are the closest white water rafting to most locations in Lake Tahoe and Reno. The Boca to Floriston trip is an exciting guided Class 2-3 adventure usually available all summer. This section of the Truckee River heads east from Truckee towards Reno. The river travels from the higher elevation pine forests and flows into the High Sierra desert, with cottonwoods lining the banks. Do not confuse these Truckee River rafting trips with the self-guided float out of Tahoe City. Several reservoirs and lakes (Boca, Donner and Stampede) supply the summer water on these sections of river, not just Lake Tahoe. The Boca rafting trip is often available when the raft rentals are closed (due to high or low water). Be sure to call us if in doubt, as unfortunately some seasonal hotel workers are not always so well informed.

Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate
Rating: Class 2-3+
Minimum Age: 7 yrs (9-10 when water levels higher)
Length: 7 miles, ½ day
Season: May-September
Elevation: 5528 Ft

HIKING

This hike is full of highlights - a big waterfall in the first half mile, tons of side streams and big boulders to explore, Shirley Lake, and finally the resort complex of High Camp. You can make this a one-way hike by taking the tram (free in the down direction!). Features: Lake — River/Creek — Waterfall. Dogs: Leashed. You can make this hike half as long - and much easier on the knees - by taking the tram down. It's free if you get yourself to the top! Description: From the end of Squaw Village, follow Squaw Peak Road to it's very end, passing some nondescript ski-area mechanics to the well-signed trailhead. The trail starts here and is quite beautiful right off the bat. Follow blue paint marks on rocks and enjoy the creek, which you'll come quite close to several times before getting to your first waterfall at .3 miles. Pass another nice waterfall at .8 miles. Many people turn around here, but the trail remains nice all the way to the tram (which you can take down for free!), so pressing on... pass a very steep section up rock slabs and emerge into more open country. The views open up and the flowers here can great in the right season. Enjoy Shirley Lake and then follow a short stretch of more singletrack up to High Camp.

Squaw Valley Aerial Tram

Climb over 2,000 feet on the Aerial Tram with 360° views of Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra

Once you reach your destination at High Camp, located at 8,200', breathe in the fresh mountain air and immerse yourself in the High Sierra.

High Camp Pool and Hot Tub

HOT TUB OPENING SPRING 2018
