Needle-felted Ornaments     $22
Create an adorable, needle-felted ornament from locally sourced wool. Easily transform fluffy roving into a perfectly shaped ornament using a cookie cutter in this simple project perfect for beginners at needle felting. This Christmas themed collection will add a layer of love and whimsy to your holiday decor and make an adorable gift. This is an introductory level project suitable for ages 8 and up.
Estimated time to complete project : 30 minutes 

Needle-felted Woodland Creature     $22
Create a mini woodland felted friend from locally-sourced wool. Each animal can be scented and personalized with essential oils or turned into a unqiue 3D ornament. A sweet and calming gift. Suitable for beginner and intermediate needle-felters.  This is a beginner to intermediate level project suitable for ages 11 and up.
Estimated time to complete project: 1.5 - 2 hours 

Needle-felted Gnome     $18
Create a sweet and simple needle-felted gnome. This little gnome would pair perfectly with a hand rolled candle or felted soap. It can also easily be turned into an ornament. This is a quick and esasy needle felted project recommended for children, beginners, and lovers of gnomes.  This is an introductory level project suitable for ages 8 and up.

Decorative Wet-Felted Soap  $18
Create beautiful botanical themed wet-felted soap bar! Felted soaps are such a sweet eco-friendly gift! Once the soap is gone the remaining felt can be used as a cleaning sponge. Wool has wonderful, natural anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties, which is useful to stay well during our Chicago winters! In this project, we will play with the wet-felting process using essential oil infused soap bars. The result will be a beautiful, colorful, and gently exfoliating self-care craft perfect for traveling, camping, bathroom sinks, and bathtubs. This is an introductory level project suitable for ages 8 and up.

Serenity Intention Candles and Holiday Card $22
A simple craft that leads to an elegant finished product! Intention candles are crafted with a special wish imbued into the wax and rolled with love. This set of candles will be made using local 100% beeswax that purifies the air as it burns. Finish this gift with a heartfelt seasons tiding in a beautiful card. This gift will be artistically wrapped with twine and dried herbs and flowers - a gift ready to be given!  This is an introductory level project suitable for ages 6 and up.

Needle-Felted Christmas Angel    $33
A stunning and sweet felted angel will sure to be added to the favorite holiday decorations collection. Using locally sourced roving, this project will be done with needle felting and wrapping. Great intermediate level project, but easily do-able for an ambitious beginner!  This project suitable for ages 12 and up.

Saturday & Sunday

10 am to 3 pm

This is an OPEN STUDIO Experience and participants will work independently with some assistance and instruction from facilitator.  All Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Please note our age recommendations.  Felting requires the use of a needle and children will need to be supervised by a parent or other adult attendee.

Please be sure to note estimated craft times (located in project descriptions) so you can determine how much time you will need to complete your project(s).  Participants may choose to come one or both days depending on number of projects purchased and how quickly you believe you will work.  PLEASE GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME so that you can fully enjoy your experience.  Please note that participants may choose times they arrive and leave as long as they are within open house scheduled hours.  

Timing:  Doors will open at 9:45 am and Studio will close at 3 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Olivia DeMarco spent four years as a Waldorf teacher and is a local artist who loves to introduce new art forms to people of all ages. Olivia has co-facilitated the Honoring the Ancestors - Dia de los Muertos Workshop at Whispers from the Moon and frequently attends Art for the Heart & Soul classes. 

 During this special open house crafting experience, we will: 

  • Learn about the needle/wet felting process and play with wool.
     
  • Create one or more one-of-a-kind holiday crafts that will make a beautiful gift for someone special or yourself! 
      
  • Infuse our projects with love, affection and the intentional thoughts/wishes for those individuals who are being gifted.
  • Have fun!

Cancellation Policy:  Any cancellations occurring 7 or more days prior to the workshop date will be refunded (less a $15 administration fee).  Any cancellations made after that time will be offered a credit voucher (less a $15 admin/material fee) to use toward future classes/workshops.
