Pilates for Neurological Conditions (Pilates Apparatus): Sun 22nd Apr 2018 - Witney, Oxfordshire 

The tutor for the course is Mariska Breland

Mariska Breland, founder of the Fuse Pilates method, launched Exercise For MS™ and Pilates For MS™ Teacher Training in 2013.  The course incorporated the latest research in neuroplasticity and neurorehabilitation covers program design for common problems associated with multiple sclerosis.

Diagnosed more than 10 years ago, Breland has lived with multiple sclerosis (MS) and challenged her body to curb the debilitating effects that MS can have through exercise. She has also worked with clients with spinal cord injury, a variety of chronic medical conditions, and athletes (and weekend warriors) who have suffered from sports-specific injuries. Many are surprised when they learn that Mariska has MS and are eager to know how she successfully manages the disease in her day-to-day life.

In 2016 Mariska has expanded her Workshops to add other Neurological conditions and related topics as separate workshops which share common exercises which are taught in both the one day workshops titled :

Exercises for Neurological Conditions  and   Pilates for Neurological Conditions

To obtain a specialism in neurological conditions the Exercises for Neurological Conditions needs to be taken as well as the Pilates for Neurological Conditions and need to be conbined with at least one of the 'Understanding' courses (listed below) too.  They can be taken in any order.

  • Understanding Multiple Sclerosis for Fitness Professionals
  • Understanding Parkinsons Disease for Fitness Professionals
  • Understanding Stroke for Fitness Professionals

This then creates a specialisms in each topic -  or by combining all topics to create will create an overall specialism in Neurological Conditions
