US Sailing Advanced Race Officer Seminar
Instructors Hank Stuart and John Strassman will make this seminar as entertining as possible. If you are a Race Officer and need to recertify or just want to polish your performance this is the seminar for you. If you want to learn more about running match races - one of the most entertaining types of racing - this seminar is for you.
Oakcliff Sailing is thrilled to have Hank Stuart (Chairman of the Race Administration Committee) bring his conversational format of the Advanced Race Seminar and John Strassman (Chairman of the Race Management Committee) will co instruct.
If you have been volunteering for race committee work this is the opportunity to meet some of the most respected race officers in the country and learn from them. Come listen and learn about race management, especially match racing.

About: This seminar is for experienced race officers who would like to refresh and increase their knowledge of such topics as: organizing an event, writing the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions, RC equipment, race committee preparations, setting the starting line, setting the course, starting, finishing and scoring.
What to Bring: At the seminar you will need your own copy of The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020 and the US Sailing Race Management Handbook. They can be purchased in the US Sailing online store: http://www.ussailing.org/race-officials/race-official-publications/

People interested in becoming certified by US Sailing as Regional or National Race Officers must attend such a seminar and pass the associated test. Details of the other requirements for certification are available on US Sailing's web site.
