Advocacy and Action:

League Legislative Summit 2018!

The 2018 Advocacy and Action Legislative Summit on February 6-7, 2018 will be here in two months.

For those league members who have not attended our Summit in previous years, get ready for a crash course in lobbying, opportunities to hear from legislators in the Cabinet meeting room, a press conference on the steps of the Historic Capitol, opportunities to lobby your legislators as well as attending committee meetings on issues that are LWVF priorities for you.

Your $135 registration fee includes the LWVF Members Banquet on Tuesday, 2/6, buffet breakfast exclusive to LWVF in the banquet hall on Wednesday and Thursday 2/6-7, wrapped up by the closing event -- the Gala dinner at the lovely Woman's Club of Tallahassee.

We are very excited to be holding our Gala this year at the Women's Club of Tallahassee. Founded in 1903, the Mediterranean Revival style clubhouse served as the site for securing funding for the first high school, worked to secure passage of the 19th Amendment, supported Girl Scouts, 4-H Club and fought against poverty during the Great Depression. During WWII, it was operated by the Red Cross furthering the war effort. It seems fitting the League of Women Voters of Florida hosts the Gala in such a noble and impressive part of Tallahassee's history -- celebrating the successes of women from another century as well as the successes of today's League women and men of action.

2018 Advocacy and Action Legislative Summit -- share the word and encourage your friends and other league members to register.

We've negotiated the best possible room rates for downtown Tallahassee during the legislative session.  LWVF room block rate is $229 for 1-4 guests per room, they agreed to include the buffet breakfasts on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, and parking is free. Book your room now room now, click this link to the LWVF block. The total room count in the block is 30 rooms for each night so make your reservation now.
