ICM Celebration of Children 2018

Greetings!

ICM's 2018 Celebration of Children Conference -- "Creating Hope in Georgia's Children"

This conference is an educational event that focuses on improving the well-being of Georgia's children.  Each year attendees gather to learn and to act on behalf of Georgia's children. This celebration is also in support of ICM Day at the Capitol 2018!

We will be focusing on the effects of childhood trauma and ways that the larger community can be a part of reducing contributing factors by creating environments that instill hope and resilience in our children and families.

Conference Date & Time:  Thursday, February 1, 2018, 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (registration begins at 9:15 a.m.)

 

Panelists will explore creating hope in Georgia's children in the midst of trauma:  Carlis V. Williams, Southeastern Regional Administrator, U.S. Administration for Children and Families (Region IV); Dr. Sarah Vinson, MD, Morehouse School of Medicine, Child & Adolescent and Forensic Psychiatry; Lane Pease, Program Director, Kate’s Club; and Rev. Dawn Britt, Childhood Trauma Advocate

Trauma 101 workshop will be led by the Child Welfare Training Collaborative and is approved for one hour of continuing education for MSW (core), MFT and LPC (related), DECAL, FVIP, BCW and Division of Family and Children Services professional development hours.
