He will provide at least 3 digital, high-resolution, edited professional headshots per individual for $30. So come and look sharp! Headshots will be taken in the first conference room from 5:30-6pm and 7:30-8pm.

 

 

About Our Speaker:

  

Jacqueline Seabrooks

Jacqueline Seabrooks recently retired after serving more than 36 years in Southern California law enforcement. Before she moved into executive leadership, Ms. Seabrooks’ policing experience included patrol services, staffing and training, investigations, specialized enforcement, motorcycle enforcement, budgeting and grant writing. In 2007, when she was appointed to serve as the Chief of Police for the City of Inglewood, Ms. Seabrooks had the distinction of of being the first African-American woman to serve as a police chief in that’s City’s history and in the history of the State of California. Upon her retirement from the City of Santa Monica at the close of September 2017, Ms. Seabrooks held the distinction of being the second most tenured police chief in all of Los Angeles County, an area which consists of 44 independent municipal police departments.

Ms. Seabrooks has a strong teaching and facilitating background. In addition to teaching law enforcement coursework and teaching in college settings, she is a recognized subject-matter expert in a number of areas, including leadership, organizational development and change, ethics, cultural competencies, and discrimination/harassment. As a result, she has often been a featured speaker at various symposia occurring across the country. Ms. Seabrooks holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Public Policy and Administration. She is a graduate of both the FBI’s National Academy and its Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar; she has also completed professional development coursework at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Boston University’s Senior Management Institute for Police. And, although she is retired, she continues to serve as a mentor and consultant for law enforcement executives. She also continues to be active in various national law enforcement organizations such as the Police Executive Research Forum and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

And most importantly, Ms. Seabrooks is now proud to call Dallas, Texas her new home town!
