Free Training:

Water System Operation and Management 

Please join us for a free event discussing challenges in operating and managing a water system. The training will be valuable for both water operators and board members. 3.5 technical contact hours (TCH) for water operators have been approved by Vermont DEC. Registration is required. To register, follow the link at the bottom of this email or contact Mark Johnson.

Learning Objectives:

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the importance of maintaining the distribution system as a barrier to protect health.
  • Recognize problems that may lead to distribution system water quality issues.
  • Identify key roles and responsibilities in managing a water system.

 The course will accomplish this through modules that will discuss:

  • The multiple barrier approach to protect public health.
  • Factors that impact distribution system water quality and key regulations.
  • Disinfection practices and chlorine residual management.
  • Water system board management – roles and responsibilities
