December CLE: The State of the State’s Marijuana Program and Prospects for legalization in the New Year with Assemblyman Gusciora.

Please join us for our monthly CLE luncheon featuring Assemblyman Gusciora speaking on the hot topic of the legalization of medical marijuana in New Jersery. We are delighted and honored to have Assemblyman Gusciora join us. As always, a delicious gourmet lunch will be served.

Although medical marijuana is currently legal in New Jersey for certain chronic medical conditions like cancer, HIV/AIDS, and Crohn’s disease, the New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act is arguably the most strict marijuana law in the nation and prohibits marijuana use for other medical applications. Assemblyman Gusciora has taken the lead to expand the legalized use of medical marijuana in New Jersey through his bill, A2068, which seeks to treat marijuana in the same fashion as alcohol, restricting sales to residents 21 and over.

About our Speaker: This month we are honored to feature Assemblyman Reed Gusciora (D), District 15. Assemblyman Gusciora was first elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1995 and was re-elected to a new term this past November. He has proudly served 21 years in office and counting. He currently serves as the Assembly Deputy Majority Leader, the Chair of the Regulatory Oversight and Reform and Federal Relations Committee, as well as on the Financial Institution and Insurance and Labor committees. In addition, Assemblyman Gusciora also serves as the Municipal Prosecutor for Princeton, Lawrence, and Hopewell Borough, and is an Adjunct Professor at The College of New Jersey. Assemblyman Gusciora is also a member of the Governor's Advisory Board on AIDS, the Mercer County HIV Consortium, the Princeton YMCA, The Arc of Mercer County, the Trenton Magnet Theatre, and United Progress Incorporated. Assemblyman Gusciora obtained his B.A. from Catholic University and his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School .
