Trail Horse Retreat Weekend

Broxton Bridge Plantation

Inspiration, Education & Relaxation in beautiful South Carolina

Trail Riding along with educational opportunities, group activities, tours and much more!

Our goal is to inspire you to spend more time with your horse.

Broxton Bridge Plantation is just the location to relax with a small group of equestrians.  Enjoy sharing horsemanship with like minded folks along with equine professionals in this beautiful setting.

Knowledge is a terrible thing to waste and we want to share it with you.

Equine Educational Opportunities during the weekend-

Thursday - "Developing the Independent Trail Horse"  learn how to work with the herd bound horse, build your horses confidence on the trail with a group or alone.

Friday - "Hurry Up & Relax for the Trail Horse" Building confidence at all gaits, creating impulsion & creating relaxation in your trail horse

Saturday - "Mastering Obstacles for the Trail Horse"  Approaching obstacles, navigating obstacles with confidence, developing better body control for  obstacles on the trail.

Morning session will start in camp and afternoon sessions will move out on the trail.  Areas of ground work/skills will also be covered with this format. Designed for horses that have some trail experience.

Sessions will run daily from 10am-4pm with 2 hour lunch breaks. Private one on one opportunities for guidance, fire side evening chat sessions, group shared dinners & demonstrations are all included.

Joe & Penny are excited to have you join them

at the Broxton Bridge Plantation.

In addition to much success competing in many areas of the horse world we are excited to share that Joe & Penny Most were the Winners of  the AQHA Trail Challenge Event hosted by AQHA in MO for 2015/2016!  We spend many hours on the trail and enjoy riding all over the United States.  Our goal is for you to enjoy your horse as much as we enjoy ours.

Advance your knowledge in all areas of horsemanship.

For any discipline a confident horse is a safer horse.

About Broxton Bridge Plantation

The G.D. "Jerry" Varn family owns & operates Broxton Bridge Plantation in Ehrhardt, South Carolina. Broxton Bridge Plantation was built in the late 1700s and has been in the Varn family for nine generations.

At beautiful Broxton Bridge Plantation, in addition to breathtaking views of the Salkehatchie River from trails 35 feet up on the bluff to trails through mature stands of pines and hardwood, they can provide you with a most enjoyable trail ride year round.

                    bb battle

On the southern end of Broxton Bridge Plantation there is an old battleground, complete with all the breastworks, left over from the south's defenses on February 1, 1865 – 153 years ago. The northern army was in route from Savannah, Georgia, to Columbia, South Carolina, and the battles at Broxton Bridge and Rivers Bridge on the Salkehatchie River were the last big defensive effort for the Confederates before the battle at Columbia.
