Waiver

Running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of race officials relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running this event including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including heat and humidity, traffic and conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. This is a road race and I understand the race is not intended for individuals with dogs, skateboards or skates, and I will abide by these guidelines. NO DOGS ALLOWED. Participants with baby joggers or baby strollers must start at the back of the race. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Peninsula Track Club: Road Runners Club of America, the Isle of Wight-Smithfield-Windsor Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Smithfield, race officials, volunteers and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event. I grant permission to all the forgoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.

Come out and enjoy the only Mardi Gras Run & Festival in the Hampton Roads area! Dress up in your favorite Mardi Gras attire and run in the Geaux for the Gold 10K (timed, not a color run) at 10:00am, or the Fat Tuesday 5K Color Run (untimed) at 11am! After the run enjoy some delicious refreshments while listening to jazz music!

Awards ceremony begins at noon.

Race day registration is 8:00-9:30 AM, Geaux for the Gold 10K starts at 10:00 AM, and the Fat Tuesday 5K starts at 11:00 AM. Awards and post race festival featuring refreshments & entertainment begins at noon.

The course will start in Smithfield at Windsor Castle Park and end there where the Festival will begin!  Ample public parking will be available at Windsor Castle Park. Purple shirt for 10K runners_ white shirt for Color Run participants

Each 10K runner receives a purple shirt, shown at right. Color Run participants receive a white shirt. Color Run participants can reques a purple shirt in advance. We cannot switch shirt colors at Packet Pickup.

All participants who register by Thursday, January 25 will receive an official race shirt. Due to production time, race shirts cannot be guaranteed for registrations received after January 25.

Packet pick-up will be at the Isle of Wight-Smithfield-Windsor Chamber of Commerce located at 100 Main Street, Smithfield on Friday, February 2nd from 3:00-7:00pm.  Please bring ID when picking up your packet.
