GENERAL INFO & WHAT TO EXPECT:  We spend the week taking photos and exploring southern RI areas of Galilee & Matunuck.  This program fosters strength and self-expression. Downtime activities include game night, tag, and writing exercises.  Jenny is excited to work in this magical location she knows inside and out.  Our exploration will involve food culture & our cook will make traditional johnnie cakes, chowder and "stuffies". Our workshop concludes with a documentary photo book made by all the students.  A copy is included in the fee. CLICK HERE to see highlights from overnight workshops 2017.

DOC PHOTO DAYS:  We use Nikon DSLR cameras; have photo lessons and field trips daily.  Trips are to The Matunuck Oyster Farm, Galilee Fishing Boats, Aunt Carries Restaurant, The Grist Mill, The Fantastic Umbrella Factory, and Sunset Farm.  We will learn about The Narragansett Indian Tribe & how their food culture lives on today.  For the adventurous, we will go "quohogging" to gather our own bounty of local hard shell clams.

INCLUDED:  Price includes all food and entertainment, a high quality photo book made by students documenting our trip, a USB drive. T-shirts are additional cost and are available at check out.

THE HOUSE:  Our private home is 1/2 mile from the beach, has two decks, a jacuzzi tub, large yard and private accomodations for the students.

SLEEPING: 3 private rooms on the second floor.  Loft: More of a sleep-over/ camp vibe. One large room with trundle bed sleeping 2 students, and another room with two twin beds. Staff has their own separate basement level accomodations.

THE STAFF:  Jenny is the lead instructor & in charge at all times.  The in-house cook is Jenny's son, Desmond who will be a rising 10th grader at BLS.  He was the general assistant for our Maine overnight classes. There is an RA/Program Assistant who will run the evening activities. This position is currently slotted to be Jenny's niece, a local Narragabsett resident, and junior at Clark University.
