Description:
An overview of the history and development of therapeutic use of sand and miniatures, differentiation of the original Sandplay therapy from Sandtray Play therapy, an exploration of the tools and practice technique of Sandplay/Sandtray therapy, child case presentation, and experiential exercise.
Objectives:
Supplies Needed:
Bring a container to use as a sandtray. You do not have to go out and purchase one, you can probably find something at home. Some ideas: a baking pan (at least 9x13), I find the lid of the boxes that reams of paper for the photocopier come in to be a good size. Here are a couple ideas of what size we’d be looking for. On the bigger end there’s https://www.target.com/p/hefty-40-qt-lidded-plastic-storage-tub/-/A-16644160 and on the smaller end https://www.amazon.com/Small-Liter-Portable-Sand-Tray/dp/B00K9ANWAQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1497014708&sr=8-3&keywords=sand+tray As for the sand, any clean sand will work. You can use play sand that can be purchased at major craft stores. Don’t forget to bring your favorite miniature assortment.Presenter: Betty Jackson LSW, CST-T
