6 CEU'sA Discussion of Tan – Phlegm & Its Manifestations
The concept of phlegm (tan) and Phlegm-fluid (tanyin) encompasses a myriad of manifestations both substantial and unsubstantial. Sun Si Miao (581-682 AD), also known as one of China’s “Medicine Gods”, has been one of the most significant and influential contributors to the Chinese Medicine body of knowledge including his perspective on the pathology of phlegm and fluids. In this one-day course, Jeffrey Yuen will discuss the highlights of Sun Si Miao’s perspective on the manifestations of tan/tanyin with an emphasis on sensory orifice blockages that can lead to serious health concerns. This course will explore Chinese medical theory and understanding for the treatment of phlegm and phlegm-fluid pathology.

12 CEU'sTreating Global Epidemics from a Wen Bing Perspective
As Chinese medicine continues to become integrated into the West, there are growing efforts to interface these medical traditions with each other through explanations emerging from the parameters of theIR respective systems. The Wen Bing perspective recognized regional treatment COMMA, as epidemics manifested differently based on seasonal and regional differences. In this two day course, Jeffrey Yuen will take a close look at the foundations of the Wen Bing school of thought in application to the etiology and pathogenesis of global epidemics. This course will explore both the rapid nature of epidemic progression and explore Chinese medical theories and understanding for common epidemic diseases based on Wei, Qi, Ying, and Yuan level pathology.
